Laptop Drives not working

Tuesday, March 7th, 2017

My laptop fell to the floor after I had just put the lid down and it was going to sleep. Proceeded to try and login and it freezes on the loading screen for ages and doesn’t do anything. Run the diagnostics, the smart scan hard drive has passed but the short DST hard drive test has failed. Tried automatic repair and it says that the computer cannot be repaired with this link in the error message C:\\WINDOWS\system32\Logfiles\Srt\SrtTrail.txt
Then I tried to restore it to the point my computer suggested, it starts up again, but never gets past the loading screen.

The hard drive is an iomega 750GB. It was knocked off a shelf and now the power comes on but it will not connect to laptop. It sounds like its trying to start up but keeps failing.

My hard drive was dropped and now it is no longer detected and makes a buzzing noise when connected.

I have a Maxtor 3200 external hard drive which I haven’t used for many years. I am aware that the drive will not work on later versions of Windows, and have therefore tried to use it on an old Windows XP desktop computer. The drive is showing as not fully installing and therefore unable to be accessed. The indicator light on the drive goes from bright, to dull, to off as it flashes – I am not sure if this is how it used to flash or not. Could the data on this drive be retrieved?

I own an iPod Classic – It’s over 8 years old (I think) – All my music ended up being stored on this (after downloading CD’s onto old PC laptop which is long gone) – I’m trying to retrieve the music and know not to restore as this will delete music stored – Problem is iPod now saying need to restore to access – Can you help? Willing to pay as really don’t want to lose music – Thank you (I am based in Wimbledon)

3tb hard drive. I have opened to take a look and can see a clear scratch.
Just need image files and Lightroom backup files recovered – all else not required or wanted!
Is this a possibility and how much?

Hard Drive Issues and a Phone Problem

Friday, November 25th, 2016

I have issues with 2 drives. Segate external plug in, started clicking and now wont boot up. Second drive cable connection is very loose and i cant get that to boot up either. My external hard drive does not display data when connected to laptop.

Seagate hard driveIt’s data recovery from a Laptop, ASUS G551TW-CN080H-16GB. It’s a logical failure, rather than a physical drive problem.
The Laptop developed a problem with the power where it would not hold a charge and ran until it had no power left. As it was under warranty it was sent back to ASUS for repair. However they replaced the mainboard and recovered the operating system without backing up the files on the laptop, or reinstating the file index/table.

The laptop came with the hard drive partitioned as; C drive – for system files, D drive – for file storage, E drive – for file storage. The hard drive wasn’t replaced when the laptop was sent away for repair, and came back with the same partition configuration as above.
The hard drive is a 1 TB HDD / 7200rpm – SATA 6 Gb/s.

The files I want to recover were mostly on the D drive, with some on the E. The most important file types are video and photo, .avi, mp4, mts, mov, and jpg.
Data recovery software has been run on the machine once, and a lot of the photo’s and some of the video’s recovered. There are still a lot of video files which were not recovered.

I made a factory data reset on my Sony smartphone, and all my photos and contacts have been deleted.
